Kane, described by WWE as a “monstrous abomination,” holds a slim lead
in the GOP primary for mayor of Knox County, Tenn. with all precincts reporting.

The GOP in Knox County, Tennessee appears to have an unorthodox candidate for mayor.
The votes have been tallied from Tuesday’s primary, and with 100 percent of precincts reporting, Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane of WWE famehas 17 more votes than Brad Andersand will be the party’s nominee for mayor if the results hold up.
It was a three-way race, with Jacobs tallying 14,633 votes to Anders’ 14,616. Third-place finisher Bob Thomas tallied 11,296 votes.
There are provisional ballots to count, and with the race so close, the results are not official yet.

Jacobs, 51, understandably toned down the look from his intimidating WWE persona for a more fitting, conservative image during his campaign.

Jacobs ran on a platform focused on lower taxes, education, job creation, infrastructure, transparency, safer communities and limited government.
According to his WWE bio, Kane is “a monstrous abomination that seems to have been extracted directly from your childhood nightmares.”
Knox County voters will have a lot of factors to consider if Jacobs does end up being confirmed as the GOP nominee.
